How to Post a Repair on Fixt: Step-by-Step for Homeowners

Fixt Team 6 min readJuly 4, 2026

Photos, AI scope, flash bidding, choosing a fixer, escrow checkout, and completion.

Before You Start

Create a free homeowner account at fixt.live/signup. Gather clear photos of the problem, your ZIP code, and a short description. For emergencies (gas smell, flooding, sparking panel), call local emergency services first — Fixt is for planned and urgent-but-non-life-threatening repairs.

1. Open Post a Repair

From your dashboard choose Post a Repair or ask Husham to send a post-job link. Select a category — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, handyman, appliance, etc. Enter title, description, and upload photos. The more visual detail, the better fixers bid accurately.

2. Review AI Scope

Fixt AI suggests severity, likely cause, and an estimated cost band. Use this to sanity-check bids later. You can edit description or add photos before publishing.

3. Set Bidding Window & Publish

Pick how long fixers can bid — shorter for urgent jobs, longer for complex scope. Publish to open flash bidding. You will get notifications as bids arrive (enable push/email in settings).

4. Compare Bids & Accept

Review price, fixer rating, estimated timeline, and AI Recommended badge. Read fixer profiles and past reviews. Accept one bid — payment authorizes to escrow at this step.

5. Job Day & Completion

Coordinate via in-job chat. When work is done, review the outcome and approve completion to release payment. Leave a review to help the community. Optionally set up recurring maintenance from completed jobs.
