How much does Fixt cost for homeowners?

Fixt is free for homeowners. You pay only for the repair work at the bid price you accept. A small 5% platform fee is included in the bid price.

How do fixers get paid?

Fixers receive payment via Stripe Connect once the homeowner verifies job completion. A 5% platform fee is deducted. Fixers pay a $29/month subscription with a 14-day free trial.

Is my payment protected?

Yes. All payments are held in escrow until you confirm the work is complete. If there is a dispute, our AI-assisted resolution team reviews the case and can issue refunds.

1. Introduction

AACG ("Fixt", "we", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Fixt platform, website, and related services. By using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and account type (homeowner, fixer, admin). For Fixers: business name, service categories, insurance documentation, and Stripe Connect account details.

Job Data: Job descriptions, photos uploaded for AI diagnosis, location information (ZIP code level), bid amounts, and job completion photos.

Communications: Messages sent through in-platform chat, support inquiries, and dispute documentation.

Payment Data: Payment method information is collected and processed by Stripe. Fixt does not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers.

Usage Data: Browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, and interaction patterns for analytics and service improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: operate and improve the platform, process jobs and facilitate bidding, run AI diagnosis and price estimation, process payments via Stripe, send transactional notifications (job updates, bid alerts, payment confirmations), provide customer support and resolve disputes, analyze usage patterns to improve the Service, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.

4. AI and Photo Processing

Photos submitted for AI diagnosis are sent to our AI provider (currently via OpenRouter/Anthropic) for analysis. Photos are used solely for providing the diagnosis service and are not used to train AI models. Job photos may be displayed on Fixer profiles and in the public gallery with your consent (when you mark a job as complete). You can request removal of any photos at any time.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With Other Users: Job details are shared with Fixers who bid on your jobs. Fixer profiles (name, rating, portfolio) are visible to homeowners. Contact information is shared only after a bid is accepted.

Service Providers: We use Stripe for payments, Supabase for data storage, OpenRouter for AI processing, Twilio for SMS/voice, and Resend for email. Each provider processes data only as necessary to provide their service.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including: encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, Row Level Security (RLS) policies on all database tables, PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment processing via Stripe, and regular security audits. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

7. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active plus 2 years after deletion. Job and payment records are retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance. Chat messages are retained for 1 year after job completion. You can request data export or deletion at any time by contacting support.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements), export your data in a portable format, opt out of marketing communications, and withdraw consent for optional data processing. We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Vercel Analytics for usage statistics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Fixt is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
